Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I clean my carpet? (Other than it makes it look better.)
Carpet cleaning is important because in addition to making your carpet look like new again, carpets tend to collect a lot of contaminants like dirt, dust, and pet hair. Cleaning these out will vastly improve the air quality in your home, and a thorough professional carpet cleaning can improve the health and allergies of your family members. Most experts recommend that residential carpets should be cleaned thoroughly at least twice a year. Don’t take risks with your family’s well-being! We are happy to answer any questions you might have. All pricing is based on square footage with a minimum of $150 for all cleaning jobs.
How long will it take to do the job?
Normally 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the size of the house.
How long does it take to dry?
It usually takes from 8 to 24 hours to dry depending upon the condition and thickness of the carpet and ventilation. In fact, you can walk on it as soon as we’re done. Although we wouldn’t throw a party or anything, normal traffic won’t hurt it. Just be careful not to slip when going from damp carpet onto a hard surface.
What kind of chemicals do you use?
We use top-of-the-line cleaning products consistent with industry standards and manufacturers recommendations. Our products are environmentally friendly and OSHA and EPA compliant. We can also use any product you have onsite.
What furniture do you move?
We move things like sofas, tables, chairs, small dressers and nightstands. Note, however, that we don’t move large dressers, beds, china cabinets, electronics, pianos and such. All we ask is that you remove breakables and knickknacks from the furniture you want moved. The more you can move, the more thorough our technicians can be.
Do fabric protectors really work?
Fabric protectors won’t prevent your carpet from getting dirty. Their purpose is to protect your carpet from permanent stains and prolong the life of the fabric, which they do very well if properly applied.
How do you treat pet stains and odor?
Because dogs and cats don’t sweat, their urine contains alkaline salts which absorb moisture out of the air. Thus, pet urine never really dries. It becomes a feeding ground for bacteria which causes odor, staining and discoloration. Minor problems can be handled with a combination of germicidal and enzyme surface treatments and enzyme injections into the padding. Major situations usually require pad replacement and floor treatment in addition to treating the carpet. We have even cleaned up after a bear!
Help, my dog chewed a hole in the carpet!
No problem! We have repaired many of these incidents. If we are lucky you will have a leftover piece of carpet from the original installation, if not, we can take a piece from the back corner of your closet and replace that piece with another similar carpet at a later date.
Do you only install carpet?
Nope, we also install laminate flooring and luxury vinyl tile (LVT). We don’t do tile or hardwood floors, but we know who does and would be happy to refer you.
Laminate flooring is easy and quick to install, floats on the floor to hide subfloor imperfections. Laminate is economical and looks like wood planks or tile.
LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile), which offers 3D printing technology that adds depth, realism and durability, with a high-performance wear-layer to a vinyl tile product. LVT offers the option of a less permanent flooring, but LVT gives you the look of a ceramic tile floor and is designed to meet today’s demanding lifestyles. Luxury Vinyl Tile is renowned for its high durability and scratch-resistance, making it an excellent choice for areas with heavy foot traffic.
